ANNE SHWALUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Shwaluk of Oakburn, MB on October 17, 2010. Anne is survived by brother Joseph Swanson of Windsor, ON, sister Minnie (Sid) Prokopchuk of Roblin and Marion (Rudy) Usick of Erickson along with 25 nieces and nephews, 40 grand- nieces and nephews and four great-grand nieces and nephews. Anne graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BA and BEd. She taught in Manitoba for her entire career, except for two years when she taught in Detroit and two years in Westfalia, Germany. Anne travelled extensively in Canada and throughout the world. In her retirement Anne was actively involved with her the community and served on numerous committees and boards. Anne served on the Pelly Trail School Division Advisory Board, the Library Municipal and Regional Board, Elderly Persons Housing and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada. Anne will be fondly remembered for the wonderful Boxing Day gatherings she hosted for family and friends. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. and the funeral will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Oakburn. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial gift may do so to the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Oakburn. Rae's Funeral Service of Shoal Lake and Erickson are in care of the funeral arrangements. (204) 759-2160
